Reply to With how bad the use of micro transactions, dlcs, paywalls and season passes, do you think we’ll ever get a game that after paying full price for it you then have to pay an additional $10-20 to actually play it? by chesterforbes
World of warcraft has been out for nearly 20 years. You have to pay a monthly fee to play it. Also buy the newest expansion which costs 50-60 euro around every 2 years.

Idk if you have a 3ds handy but there's a game on there I started my partner on called fantasy life, it has a coop side to it so we did hunts and side quests together.
If not then you could try it takes two, or go old school and stick her on banjo kazooie, all the best players grew up with the good shit, so I'd start there.
Plus banjo kazooie is great.
Depends on what she's into too really, find something that suits her taste.
Humans fall flat is a good one too

Man, love RDR2. But my experience (idk why) was that every single time I got an achievement, game would just freeze an I had to restart the whole mission again(( kinda raised achievementophobia in me:D

I bought a first class cabin on the manifesto for me, my dad and husband thinking it would be a nice gesture. If the manifesto was set in 1912, since then, my husband and I have split up and my dad has dumped me for his new girlfriend. Now, if I ever see that manifesto, I'm pretty sure it will look like my dad and his wife (I never changed my last name) and their Arab Muslim servant. Immortalised forever. It better be a nice room representing my life as a sinking ship.

Reply to When I grew up my father used to always play Ratchet & Clank 1-3, when he finished one he would just replay it immediately and probably finished each one 200 times, at least. He is getting older now so to speak and so I got this tattoo in his name today. by SwiftIy2
I know I'm not that young but how old is your dad? I grew up on those games and I'm only in my 30s

Additional phases. Especially when the battle changes in a big way, like the Medusa fight in Kid Icarus Uprising.

on a serious note, I would say any of the games that have been remastered/remade/milked. If they weren’t good, devs would just make a new IP instead of bringing good games back.

A horror themed walking simulator? I understand each of those words by themselves, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them together in a phrase, let alone describing a game.
Now I’m more curious than ever, so I’ll try to check it out. Thanks a ton for such a complete answer!

Used to be a lot worse before (most) games started autosaving when you changed cells or did certain things. It’s been a long time since I can remember losing hours of progress in one fell swoop.

I can get by with Destiny 2 (free on Steam) until then. Any suggestions for favorites?

As long as you have the toolset to handle it, I'm good with all that. What I dislike is when you're given an obstacle your have no method of handling, and it's not being thrown at you in the service if learning / finding the counter.
Like a party based encounter where one of the characters is Randomly removed from the battle, and you can neither direct it, nor recover from it. So if the Wrong character is ejected, it's an instant Game Over, and it was just a Die Roll that determined that.

Can you share with the class what COMPLETELY unique games you play then? Every game out there shares influence or inspiration from other games and mediums. This is a shit take bud.

Hmm… this sounds kind of tough. I remember for me, the first time I had to use both joysticks on the controller was PS1. Ape Escape.
For modern games today. Try something like Minecraft on creative mode just to get like, a tutorial for movement/moving around?
Idk, that’s the best idea I have.

I have attempted to play this so many times on PC over the last five years. Id give my left arm for a decent port that doesn’t crash. I LOVED this game growing up.

Hmm I recommend Kingdom Hearts tbh. The story throughout the games gets a bit convoluted but the remakes on the PS4/PS5 and XBOX have the twin stick action I think you're talking about. If she likes Disney and wants something relatively fun, I recommend them.
