I feel you homie, my dad is 75 now and recently got well from prostate cancer amongst covid and many other things, but I'm wondering when this cat's 9 lives will run out. So it felt good to show this to him before something eventually happens.

Reply to Would The Last of Us as a series have been received better if it had released in reverse? by BigMacDaddy_YT
Didn't play the second. Don't want Joel to die and don't want to play as Abby. First game ended just fine to me and that's how it's staying in my mind. To me, no need to change the order of one game. So it would make no difference.

Reply to Is your television your monitor? by GeorgeMyght
Nope. I have a SteamLink that connects to my primary gaming computer to my TV for when we want to play a game in the living room.
Otherwise all my PCs are connected to monitors.

You should get him a ps5 and the new Rift in Time. It was my first R&C game but it is absolutely amazing.

You don’t need the same games on each console. Honestly if someone has multiple consoles and the same games on each one, that’s kinda dumb and a waste of money.

Even crazier that a disturbing amount of people didn’t even finish the first chapter

I enjoy both, and each system get some games that are specifically for their system.

Reply to According to Skill-Up's interview of Naoki Yoshida (Final Fantasy 14 and 16), the term "JRPG" was actually viewed as a derision in the Japanese game development space: by Gorotheninja
It is something of a revelation, but it also you know... kind of makes sense. It is weird that we define entire genres of art not by their characteristics but rather by their source country. It's why I define things like Avatar and Arcane as anime - because they look and act like it.
There definitely are design differences between Final Fantasy and Skyrim, but perhaps they should be defined in terms of what they focus on. Like, the JRPG could become the Narrative or Cinematic RPG, because they do tend to be more linear and story-focused (and that's not a bad thing).

It’s tough seeing your parents grow old. My dad turned 70 a few months ago and it really bums me out. I have this feeling that any day I’m gonna get the call.

They're action adventures, a lot of people seem to be unaware that the genre even exists though so they mistake action adventures for RPG's.

For sure. As long as you're having a good time with your friends and it isn't impacting your other priorities a whole lot then you're fine
