I would absolutely not ever play a game on any format that was littered with ads. That’s a deal-breaker right there, no question. I wouldn’t care if it was free — if it’s got ads I’m not playing it.

Exactly! It’s a good game but it’s done nothing that hasn’t been done before. Wolfenstein was the first person shooter game and was hailed for a new genre then doom came out then half life.

I don’t really care much for wolfenstein 3d as a game in itself but I respect what it’s done for video games, same with doom, it’s a great game and popularised the fps genre but it was still wolfenstein with a different coat of paint.

Dark souls was awarded as the greatest video game of all time, for me I don’t entirely disagree because it’s a whole other level of experience. That said there are people who detest fromsoft games so that opinion of mine is purely subjective.

The Witcher 3 is commonly thrown around as the greatest video game of all time, once again subjective, for me it is indeed a great game but is it the greatest thing I’ve ever played? Nah, not to say I don’t lose hours in it but it wouldn’t be my ā€œif you could only play one gameā€ but it does deserve it’s high acclaim for sure

I really kind of hate these posts because there isn’t a definitive ā€œgreatest game of all timeā€ it’s purely ā€œmy favourite game of all timeā€

Sorry for the long text but I agree with your statement so much it deserved an intellectual response

Maybe you can buy my premium mobile games so I can get some cash? I made some games for Android. Can I play any game you made? Can I play it for free? Or are you just a consumer?

Mobile gaming is a niche genre to begin with. The business model of mobile gaming is to get as much money from people who play them. I have no idea why you'd pick making games on mobile to begin with.

Also big companies are already doing this by doing live service games which the majority hates.

Why. Do. I. Have. To. Make. My. Games. Free?

I just want to get a answer why ads are tolerated on mobile games but not in console games. Thank you for your time and effort convincing me that O should not add ads in my mobile games anymore.

Please also stop developing games if you want people to watch ads in order to play the game for free.

In a couple of years we'd be looking at 10 minute ads before we can even load up the game.

There's plenty free to play games out there, without ads.

Be one of these developers, that actively cares about making a proper product rather than some scummy shit tier game that begs for your wallet.

I do develop games on my own. This idea is horrible? Why do mobile games have to be free and with ads? And why has it to be marked as "advertisement" if someone like me puts a button into my game which directs you to other games I made? Can you tell me this, o wise man?

Highly subjective, I could say Morrowind because I had a visceral experience with it and loved the stat heavy elements, but could get laughed down partly because I don't like the mods for it, and someone calling it boring and the running putting them to sleep

Number of times I even dozed off...

Why not? I am a gamer and a game developer. I pay for others people games but when I upload a mobile game which I made to pay my rent I am told to make it for free.

I will continue posting things on reddit, especially my content. Maybe someone is interested in my games and is checking my profile before telling me to stop posting.

This idea is a joke. On the other hand: Mobile games are made for a lot of platforms. When playing it on a smartphone you can most likely play it on a tablet as well. I would like to play Elden Ring on the go without the need to buy a set up for this because I already bought the game.

In order

PSX - didn’t really have any competition. Great games.

PS2 - had some great games and was relatively reliable.

X360 - absolutely blew the PS2 and PS3 out the water. This was the first console I ever owned that felt like it was a truly gaming machine. Xbox live was incredible. Parties were amazing. The entire experience is still unbeaten tbh.

X1 - whilst I ended up switching from the X1 to the ps4, I preferred having the X1. Not particular reason. I just preferred it all.

I’ve not owned a PS5 so I can’t compare but I currently have an XSX and I’m having the best time of my life on it
