If I’m being really honest with myself, world of Warcraft.

I don’t regret it, I have amazing memories with friends or solo that feel as important to me as any holiday or event. But yeah, that game may not have been designed to be addictive, but over the years it was refined to be…and in the beginning it was just super fun.

School get stable job with holiday leave, insurance, sick pay and pension. Play games as you normally would retire at 65 and you can still play games from morning to days end until you hit the bucket. Games aren’t going anywhere.

Because Nintendo will always cater to kids on their terms. PCs have too much freedom with what you can do with a game’s files that Nintendo doesn’t want you to fuck around with.

Remember Slippy?

Plus, Nintendo make it as hard as possible for pirates to distribute games.

Oh, nice! I don't think I played the first one much but I was always fond of HoMMII. The third part is the most popular from what I've heard and I also liked IV with all its weirdness. I did try 5 and 6 but could never immerse that well. I can't even tell if they were good or bad because they weren't as memorable in my opinion.

I can, however, recommend the King's Bounty games (The Legend, Armored princess etc.) to scratch the itch a little. It obviously doesn't hit quite the same as HoMM but it has very similar combat.
