female characters have always looked cooler to me since they are slim and agile, plus the added not so common in irl (it is common in media) enjoyment factor is a thing.
female characters in the end are always loved or seen as 'badass' when they also fight. yuroichi from bleach is an example, aqua from kingdom hearts.
for fighting games the agile ones are usually the female characters. I have mostly picked female characters in fighting games.
I never create a female character though unless forced.

Most dont have smaller hit boxes, but in multiplayer the smaller frame potentially helps.

Over in the television sub, it's an influx of "why don't I like The Last of Us?"
Like dude, because you don't. The question isn't complex.

Pretty good. Bit janky with controls at times, especially when you need to draw an hourglass at the end.

I like how there's a skeleton in the Ocean Kings temple that complains about not being able to use buttons.

I don’t know man, sometimes I think that they just found a way to monetize some newer games in a way that they know that 10% of gamers will spend more money than the 90% ever would and with live services (whales), loot boxes, card packs, etc. a company can monetize a game for a long time without adding too many new assets.
Maybe I’m off base here, who knows? So many newer games fall flat for me. I had more fun playing neverwinter nights (2002) than I have playing newer games for a while. There are still good games being made, please don’t misunderstand me, just not as many of them from my point of view.

Same thing with my music industry analogy too. There are so many choices to choose from that specific niche genres or bands only fills the void. I also replay older music and bands too because they never get old. Pop punk music for example didn't died out because they weren't as popular back in the 2000s. I still encounter alot of new and upcoming bands that I found on Youtube and Spotify.
Indie games fills the void that some people are looking for if they feel that AAA isn't providing them enough content.

Liked the vibe of the game, hated the temple of the ocean king so so much, hated the touchscreen controls. Nothing is less satisfying than tapping the screen to attack. I never played through the whole thing for these reasons.

Exactly!
This is the best way to have nuance conversation surrounding the gaming industry. The focus should be about the quality of games if gamers wants to improve the gaming industry. Focusing too much on which genre is being produced and which genre is better is just vapid because it just goes nowhere. Gamers vote with their money and the market will obviously follow through the most popular product.
