There are also a ton of two person co-op games that you two could play together - I know your schedules are part of the problem, but if possible ever that might be fun. I played 'It Takes Two' with my boyfriend while we were long distance. It has cute animation and is pretty straightforward - puzzle solving to move through the game, but you both have to do your part in order to advance. Stardew Valley is also a good pick - you can farm together and build a little city.

Otherwise, start with what you like as there might be a game related.

It’s a slow starter during the first hour but definitely picks up, I’d say it’s a similar pace to last of us and has some similarities in gameplay - the story is really great too. If you have gamepass I believe both games are on there, if not the original generally tends to be quite reasonably priced.

You seem to like similar games to me, as I also didn’t get on so much with Witcher or RDR2 so my other recommendations might be the tomb raider trilogy and Alan wake.

If you’re into the horror genre, Dead Space just came out and it is amazing. Definitely worth checking out

I've definitely done this, but what bums me out more is when I decide to go grind (I play mostly single-player games, lol), I get bored and burned-out of the grinding right before the final boss, and just don't turn it on again.

Feels bad. But if I got that far it means I loved it!

Im guessing the complaints are all switch? The xbox has modern control and you can even ADS while moving. Havent tried switch version
