As big as they were at the time Guitar Hero (and rhythm games in general in the west, really) has gone extinct by now. Pretty much just a quirky relic of the 2000s with no real impact.

Nothing for 1988, when SMB3 and Ninja Gaiden were released, or 1990 with Super Mario World?

It exploits peoples need to own, but it doesn't block you from enjoying the game to its fullest other than not owning characters (you can still play them occasionally).
So, like i said, if you at any point want to get your wallet to progress, you are probably playing the game wrong.

Imagine genshin as polished non-monetized non-timegated without standard addiction mechanic practices and instead a one time $60 purchase, with several polished paid expansions down the line. The dream.
Genshin is generous but it's still banking on getting you addicted. Puzzle and Dragons was another generous S tier game plagued with monetization.

Reply to Why is Dead Space so much scarier than Alien Isolation? Is it the Necromorphs? by LordRevanofDarkness
Hmmm, If i may take a guess, execution.
There is a really old game called "Clock tower" which basically uses the same hideandseek mechanics as Alien Isolation. But Clock tower executes it so well that a hunchback with a pair of giant scissors terrifies you. He is slow, you can evade him a lot of times, but everytime he appears it is hard not to panic. While after the 5th death in Alien Isolation you just go meh and load the save file.

And Dead Space mix them both along with scarcity of resources, you have several on-the-run decisions while the dread and jump scares happens, along with the Necromorphs. Also the bizarre deaths.

I would say it does after you begin to unlock new ways to handle different situations. Having more options makes enemy sections less stressful since you don’t need to worry about running out of ammo so much.

you sadly missed a civ building steam sale which the tab alone helps in finding games.
ill recommend rimworld, against the storm, anno, kingdom two crowns, kenshi, warhammer 2
look into modded campaigns for fallout 3/4/new vegas, skyrim etc.
just browse sales and pick games you like, try new things, get gamepass.
I'm playing through ff13 with modded graphics and my mp games i'm playing terraria modded, risk of rain 2. there are too many games to play, I have gamepass but I havent even started a lot of them.

im not condoning it but ffs people, you had your fun and paid for that time, no?

There’s so much I could get into, but really it just comes down to the fact that it feels like a game that was made for me. It also hit me at the perfect time in my life.
Narratively, it was the first time I was genuinely wrapped up in the story of the characters and the world, rather than the story of what I experienced as a player. Gameplay-wise, it felt great to play and had combat unlike anything else I had experienced. It also had the visuals and audio to back it up.
Beyond that though, it felt like something made with an extreme level of passion. Like every single component of it is there to contribute to the feeling it is trying to give you. Obviously, every game has an immense amount of work and care put into, but this one felt like it was made with the best of intentions.
It’s a story about art. And as an artist myself, I take a huge amount of personal meaning from it. I couldn’t be happier that a sequel is finally coming out, but I’m also fairly sure nothing could live up to the experience I had playing it for the first time.
It’s a game I recommend to everyone.
