Not playing right now, but Zero Dawn (somewhat by proxy) has become my all time favourite game. Cannot wait for Forbidden West to make its way to Steam. You'll have a blast.

I'd be curious to know what criteria it takes to be a 'landmark' for this list. Evey Gta is named but Metroid stops after Super Metroid, no Prime, no Dread.

No mention of any Monster Hunter games, no Ico, no Shadow of the Colossus. What about Papers Please, or do games have to be AAA titles from large developers to be considered landmarks.

I've definitely gravited towards good, story-driven, linear games over the years.

Open-world used to be refreshing until every single one followed the same formula. I'm also one of those people that needs to hit every marker on the map, so that I don't miss out on some hidden upgrade or resources. Playing open-world games can be very time consuming for me. When I only have or want to play for an hour or two, I freeze up and can't decide what to do. So I end up just not playing the game. This is currently what I'm going through with Elden Ring (only past the 2nd boss).

It's much more manageable and enjoyable for me to play a game that has limited exploration and definitive story breaks (e.g. chapters).

Pros / cons
- Decent graphics, pretty cartoony [all games of the DE are like this]
- Low level of Effort, there are constant issues with things ingame, railings either had completely misplaced physics so if you think your going to drive between 2 sets of them, wrong. that invisible section has the collision physics. only half the railing has it.
- there are floating textures like leaves in places that there should be none.
- signs to help make the city more "lived in" where done with Ai up scaling and look horrible, some have spelling mistakes.
- Missing music. They straight up removed a bunch of songs from Vice City in particular simply because they did not want to pay the licensing fees.
- there are sections of the map where the ground has no collision so you can either fall through the map, or you'll stand under neath the texture because its not lined up with the collision.
- some missions are more buggy now then they were in the past.
- some npc models look horrible with the cartoony graphics.
the games are actually Re made MOBILE ports, which they ported over to actual consoles and stuff. some mobile game problems are there.
