I always figure it's either forgetfulness or just a perspective thing. I grew up thinking some games were way more popular than they were because they were HUGE in my circle when I was a kid. If I figured everybody knew what game I was talking about from a single image I would probably forget to explicitly name the game.

The problem is : my traps are something. There's a new object i think it's called "sensor" its trigger the stair traps if you tried to break the way to the main hall ((you can't)), cuz no one knows where's the main hall, it's all like a tunnel full of traps. i really missed those days trying to miss with new players and admins.

Some players actually tried to break the stairs trap but there's more and more ahead .

But i thought about why no one (thiefs) could just ruin the area ((tnt or some shit)) and fetch for the main hall !!

>!The entrance for the main hall wasn't actually through the tunnel... I built a enchanted table area it's like Roman's builds.. when you go for a certain pillar and but a thing in the item frame its unlock a secret door to a long way down to the main hall .. i hope we never met in the some realm cuz i exposed my shit here!<

I’ve been realizing this more and more lately too, everything has to be open world and it’s not special anymore. I recently played the RE2 remake and it was the most fun gaming experience I’ve had in a long time.

I still love the classic open worlds like Fallout, Assassin’s Creed, and other RPGs but not everything has to be open world.

No, the keep-your-character mechanic sabotages a core characteristic of the genre; and the mechanic doesn’t benefit in any way from being paywalled.

You could have locked it behind an in-game challenge or a puzzle, or you could have buried it away subtly as a kind of “assassins creed style memory device”. But instead it’s just a microtransaction.

Its only purpose is to generate money, not provide a meaningful service or enable a unique experience. That’s predatory.

Doom Eternal is my favorite FPS! As for favorite game, Sekiro. No contest. The setting, themes, story, gameplay mechanics and the perfect sense of progression all complement each other. The progression is not so much set in the skill trees and unlocks, but in you as a player. The skill you must obtain IRL to beat the game is like nothing else.

Additionally, the way the game comes full circle; connects the player with the protagonist. The game starts in this moonlit field of white flowers. Sekiro stumbles grabbing his sword while being confronted by Genichiro. Out of practice and unsure of himself. Genichiro naturally whoops your ass. He feels crazy OP.

The game ends exactly the same place, the same field with Genichiro blocking your path. But now Sekiro grabs his sword firmly and collected. Both Sekiro and the player have spent the entire game training and honing their skills. Preparing for this moment. What a journey that was…

I'm a german 'Elektroniker für Geräte und Systeme' (Electronics-Technician for Devices and Systems) (Yes, that is my Job-title) and I may know how to get Electronics to work but I am unsure I can scare whatever the Apocalypse throws at me with a very r/spicypillows -like creation...

I be feeling like OPs just expect everybody to "just know," which is extremely frustrating. Something gatekeeper-ish about it. Even if it's someone or something that's seemingly obvious, I don't like holding back info from people who could be new fans. Every sub got OPs like that.

I'd start here: https://retrogamecorps.com/2022/03/13/android-emulation-starter-guide/

Also check out his retroarch started guide, and device specific guides.

There are many options at varying prices. Depending on what you want to emulate, most phones are capable of doing ps1/n64 down. You can buy a telescoping controller like the razer kishi or gamesir pro to make the experience more handheld like. They are about $100

Otherwise, the most popular "cheaper" brands are Retroid (I have the 3+), Anbernic, or Miyoo (sold out constantly, impossible to get right now).

If you want "one device to rule them all" get a steam deck. Not exactly pocketable, but still technically a portable device, and the best price/performance.

Don't buy some weirdo thing off amazon, I recommend only the brands I listed as starter devices. There are others, but these are the best value for your money (in general).

If you want more info after reading and researching, feel free to DM me.

Well landmarks doesn't mean the same thing as greatest games, gross revenue is a factor, because that can be very impactfull, but only if it spans across a lot of time, so the best selling game of that year isn't necessarily a landmark, especially if it didn't create a new standard or stand out in a different way.

Having said that, yes the list is still personal because I had to cut somewhere, and I have forgotten things as well. My knowledge only goes so far and I only did extra research for about half a day.

But a lot is based on factual data.

and thanks for calling it a great list, i hope you weren't being sarcastic :)

That's fair. I think fallout has had a really big impact, but it's hard to compare the elder scrolls and fallout in that way, and tbh I prefer not to since I do enjoy them both. I do think fallout 1 and 2 had a bigger "impact in gaming", may have been able to slot them in but the late 90s are slammed lol.
