I don’t even mind open worlds. It makes the immersion into the game feel better. I hate when open world games force you into XP grinding to stand a chance at facing the next “main quest” mission. “I have this super important mission to complete to save humanity but I don’t have any of the capacity to do it. So ima go help this cook find some ingredients for dinner tonight.”

Might be an unpopular suggestion, but I think Ori and the blind forest gives Pixar movies a run for their money. It IS a platformer game, but it feels very cinematic and is beautifully written.

Heavy Rain and Days Gone as well. Terrific soundtrack and story (imo) to match.

I'm 57, so your generation :) I have the PS5 UHD drive version. The big advantages of that version there is a UHD (4K Blu-ray) drive for watching 4K movies /Blu-Ray /DVD (or having the option if you have a 4K TV later) or buying used games or physical games from any resellerother than Sony directly. The other PS5 you can buy is the digital version which requires an internet connection and you have to buy everything directly from Sony's Digital Store which requires you to download the game from Sony, but it is cheaper. If you do not have a good broadband internet connection the digital version may not be for you. If you are new to the digital store and have some patience that we get as we get older you can save a lot of money because most games will go on sale for like 30% off after a few months after release. Edit: It may be obvious, but if you have the UHD drive version, you can still buy games form the Sony Playstation store.
