Well I agree that for data entry it makes things easier, but certainly these aren't designed with cubicle office work in mind.

Yeah I was actually pretty surprised to see the relatively low price range on this keyboard. When I watched the trailer I was expecting to hear $750+

Older people likely never had a typing class for one. If you don't use a computer much you probably don't build up the muscle memory. Younger kids are probably more acustom to virtual keyboard and don't have the muscle memory either.

I suppose the practical purpose is you could dynamically change the key displayed. Have multiple layers? While your function key is pressed you can update the keys to what they are. All those quick keys for applications? Label what each key does instead of trying to remember all the combinations. Does an application not really need a keyboard? Cool, it's now whatever sort of input you want. Music software could show notes, a soundboard could have icons for each sound, etc etc.

Is all of that worth $350 for some first gen tech? Probably not, but I can totally see these catching on eventually.

Left handed means I never learned to use one in the first place. The top of the keyboard is fine.

And for comparison, that keyboard is more expensive than the keyboard this thread is about. Keyboard people go hard.

As if I need more reasons to look down at my keyboard while I'm typing.

Looks great, but I bet they will ask for a subscription to skip the adds and have more interactive skins, also you will have to pay a extra fee for some key's extra features, and finally they will capture all what you write, just wait for it.

Am I the only one thats a wondering why there are no letters? I can type but still have to look at the keyboard while doing so. Time to get Mavis Beacon now i guess.

As a a person with a real life who does a lot of adulting stuff, I can clean my keyboard occasionally or just choose not to eat things that are going to make it filthy.

With mechanical keyboards, you can choose your own click by changing switches.

Who is this for?

I have a big desk, it's about proper ergonomics. You physically can't have your hands in good positions for long term gaming with a full sized board, you'll need to flex your wrists in an unhealthy way and you'll notice those effects long term.

I play with a microscopic sensitivity and aim shoulder elbow, but I just have a big desk. I guess if you have a small desk where that matters than sure.
