If they didn’t have the inventory, that response seems pretty reasonable to me….no reason to ditch a GPU brand imo. At least they offered solutions that still would fix the problem.

The first iPhone, from a UI/UX perspective, isn't really that different than what we have today. Sure, processing power, camera capabilities increased over the years, but the core product is similar in how it looks, acts and operates.
It also wasn't sold on a "It'll get better guys, I know it sucks now but you just gotta hang in there" promise, it did what it set out to do from the get-go and everybody just kept building on it.

How come AMD themselves made such a faux pas while their third party devs had adequate cooling? I kind of get it because the reference cards are always so generic and modestly designed where as vendors throw fans and exaggerated cooling fins everywhere.

Voting with your dollar is great when there are good options to choose instead, but if all options are bad regulation is better.
Your money is used as a carrot to lead manufacturers along, regulations are a stick when they go astray.

EVGA was top tier in customer service. I went through 3 2080Ti's with defective micron memory. They cross shipped for every card next day shipping. I finally ended up with Samsung memory and zero problems after.

That wasn't even close to my experience. I called them after the issue was known and told them I was having all the issues and they told me that I could either send the card in for them to fix and send it back or have them send out the pad and email me a link to download a file to install. I obviously took the option where I could continue to use my computer. I even asked if there was any way for them to send me a fixed model and I send it back and they said they just didnt have the inventory because so many cards were hit with it. I haven't purchased anything EVGA since.

My EVGA 1070 was one of the ones without thermal pads on the VRMs or whatever the issue was, it started artifacting and freaking out after a few weeks. Usable, but clearly messed up.
It's why I will miss EVGA, called them up and they shipped me a new card immediately (by time the card starting taking a dump the issue was known) and told me to use the defective one until the new one came in and then ship out the old one with a paid return label. I know being a fanboy of a brand is dumb, but damn they are the one company (at least for GPU's) I'd buy every time no matter what.

That sucks!
We the consumer need to be more mindful about our purchases. We need to pay more attention to available information that can help drive purchase decisions, like the Ifixit.com repairability scores for smartphones. We then need to vote with our dollars so manufacturers know this isn't acceptable, both in terms of environmental sustainability, and financial prudence for the end users.

Some screen replacements are made more difficult when you don’t get the full assembly. Samsung galaxy phone screen replacements in particular really suck when they aren’t full assemblies, it’s just better to do the full assembly with new battery installed as opposed to trying to install just the display

I have decades of computer repair experience under my belt so that wasnt a big deal. If I sent it in I would have been without a card for weeks. It was thousands of cards that got hit with it so they didnt have them to send prior to you sending yours in like more recent problems have done. This was like 6 years ago.

Well that was the most teenage rage thread I’ve seen in a long time. Literally everything you quoted was incorrect, and pulled right out of your arsehole.
So run along, and when your nuts have dropped, and you finally see the tech industry for what it is, rather than good guys/bad guys you can come and hang with the grown-ups.

I just got a new iPhone 14 pro a week ago, and with a daily average use of 7 hrs 15 mins of hard use, I’m going to bed now with 78% battery.
I charge when I sleep. Mixed use is 1-2hrs of calls and WhatsApp, about 1 hr of assorted YouTube, 2hrs of audible and the rest is reading news and winding up trumpers on Apollo for Reddit.
I haven’t had battery save enabled.

If you see something wrong in a religion, any religion, why not say it? If a god (imho all of them the byproduct of human imagination) prohibits people from having freedom of expression, I would call that god a lil dick god.
