It was an online prank to show off the gullibility of media organizations. Major news companies and even the Anti-Defamation League bought it hook, line, and sinker.

After the hoax was revealed aforementioned organizations doubled down rather than admit that they were fooled. Vague assertions that "no really, actual racists are doing it now" fell flat with the public.

My son is almost 30 and still plays this with his buddies. Little shit gets me with it now and then too.

These days, 48 hours of stubble makes me feel unkempt; when I was a teenager I wore my hair almost to my shoulders.
