It’s a preference.
Cake-like brownies are good on their own.
Fudgy brownies (like in my picture) are great when had with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, as they tend to stick to the roof of the mouth.

I’ve got a Mediterranean palate. Not a fan of smoke generally. Except grilled meats of course.

I put smoked paprika into my cheese sauce for baked mac and cheese, it's a game changer.

My mother always liked brownies way too cake-like. Basically just a thin cake. I ate them because cake is still cake, but this is what I always really wanted right here. That looks sooo good.
