Yeah, I said in a previous comment but yeah its just the seasoning.
Edit: Ope, just gonna sneak an edit in here since no one is really looking through the thread. Picture proof that the steak is not burnt. Also yes I put the sauce on the steak.

That don't look seared, that looks blackened. Seasoned I'm guessing?

Broccoli was just done in the oven, we like it a little charred.
On the other hand, I just realized that the steak looks destroyed lol. It is not, my SO and I love this seasoning that basically turns it black.

Awesome job. Looks a lil burnt. Did you make it in the air fryer?

Elk can be farmed here, so you will see it on sone restaurant menus. Moose is way harder to come by, you need to win a draw for a license to hunt it, or be indigenous. Maybe booking with a hunting guide would be your best bet.

Huh would love to taste some. We don't get either on this continent. Maybe I'll take a Canadian holiday someday!

Elk and moose taste very different. Elk is a lot more like deer, but moose is it's own thing. Extremely lean, yet very "soft" meat. I usually do my moose as a steak or a roast.
I think they vary in myoglobin content of the muscle. Elk is way darker, almost purple and moose is more pink.

I see they are related to deer in the Cervidae family. So do they taste like venison? I had venison once, as kind of a hard sausage, very nice!

Ahh Canada! I wondered if it might be there. Very interesting. Are they hunted or farmed?

Canadians eat real moose, not elk that's called moose. Just need to know somebody that hunts.

Ah, I missed that lol
Nothing wrong with blackened steak at all. It being burnt would be something completely different. I do blackened ahi tuna a couple times a month. Might have to give this a try with some steak myself
