I had the same question
I suspect OP is confusing "sending a telegram" like you and I are imagining with using the messenger app Telegram.
Also I'm not sure "basic Google chart with Twitter handle pasted on it" qualifies as "beautiful data".

I wonder if they were thinking of the messaging app.

… Telegram??? How do more young people use Telegrams than old people? Forget the age group - Literally HOW do you even send OR receive a telegram? There are not telegram offices in each town like there used to be. But somehow 15% of the youths are sending telegrams?

Cool visualization. Awful execution. I think it’s be more useful if a full circle was 100% and if the percentages were in a table in the corner of the image. Also some lines that mark roughly every 10% would be nice.

Season 3 of Picard would change your mind.
I think episode 6 leaned in too much on nostalgia, but the season started OK and just keeps getting better and better.
I felt like Picard got off to an interesting start at the beginning but completely fumbled the rest, and season 2 was not good, though it fleshed out some of his history, which may be of some interest - but the way they did it was weird.
But now I feel like Picard isn't some old dude wandering in to trouble. He feels like elder Picard should. Even Raffi is bearable now, if not one of the better characters.

For me, the data was already interesting. I was surprised by the results.
I was not surprised by the mixed reception on here, but it has motivated me to up my game. I discovered how to download data from IMDB, so I may take a shot at a better visualization.
Thank you everyone for the learning experience.

Sign up for Microsoft Rewards and you'll feel smart... it's free money for using a search engine. I get about $200 in Amazon gift codes through it every 2-3 years after letting my points build up. Its a search engine that literally pays you to use it with no gimmicks or strings attached.

Im in the US an use Bing because of Microsoft Rewards. I just let my point build up and every 2-3 years redeem like $200 in Amazon gift codes.
If you set your desktop and mobile search engines to it then it's actually a nice little way to basically make free money (well, 'money' in gift cards they have or other stuff on the Microsoft store or their products...).
I highly reccommend it if you enjoy free stuff. The search engine itself is good too, I don't miss Google or any of its functionalities at all, it's basically the same in a different UI.

Canadian here, love my winters. We take part in a lot of social winter activities, skiing, curling, snowshoeing and winter camping. We’re all pretty content. We do travel to the sun, for us it’s mostly in May or November when the snow isn’t there to entertain us. Most of the people we know that go to the sun are not that fit or adventurous, that’s just my personal take.

65% percent of ca is no longer in a drought. Went from 99% in a drought to just 34% this week. with the heavy rainfall. About 70” since October and reservoirs are releasing water. Places in ca claiming to have over four years over water supplies stores now.

Just want to add that the snowpack in a couple of basins is the highest it has ever been since recordkeeping began (~40 years).

DS9 was my favorite as well.
Though... I'm torn because Picard is better although Picard won't have as many seasons and it doesn't have the multi-season story arc about the dominion war and... It doesn't have Garak! But it is better.

Haven't watched Prodigy, watched Picard through 2.1, and have seen all of the rest. I like Lower Decks best, then TNG, and SNW.

This data means nothing without levels of significance and p-values alone are not really helping. Not sure why they wouldn't run a linear regression model. Or maybe it is but it is just confusing to parse through.

Sorry bud, but a crudely coloured spreadsheet is not data viz. Nevermind beautiful data viz. No one even knows what the colours here mean. Less text, more visual, and a legend would all be a good start.

It's the curse of modern TV where everything has to be a slave to the arc. But also modern Trek where the first 85% of the series is them twiddling their thumbs over a season long mystery that they'll then resolve in a rush in the last three episodes.
