Huh, that's really good to know. I had heard from a geopolitical analyst (my field) that oil rigs take 7 years to build and offshore takes 10 and I thought he must be exaggerating but I guess not lol.

The same thing happened to me with Hinge. I got divorced, downloaded Hinge and with the help of friends wives I made a profile that seemed to have a good amount of success. As I got my dating confidence back I started to get exhausted from all of the chats and first dates that I got Hinge burnout.
Too much attention on that app is exhausting for Men, you're basically expected to lead every conversation, more or less plan every date, meet up etc. It was all my free time for a while.
I had absolutely zero luck with Tinder by the way, what a trash, spam filled app.

We Logan's Run society now. Only instead of un-aliving you when you turn like, what it is? 28 or 30? They force you to stay alive x amount of years minimum.

Unless you're like 70 years old on reddit, you'll likely live past the depletion date.

Unfortunately, that says more about your familiarity with large regional banks than anything. At least six of the 50 largest banks in the US are in that diagram (Fifth Third, KeyCorp, Ally, Comerica, Banco Popular, Synovus), plus two more that are top 50 sized but excluded from the list for technical reasons (First Financial, Zion's). All but First Financial are traditional banks that have been around for more than 100 years.

Yes. A T-Bill is an IOU. When it is the government that holds them, it is an "I Owe Myself".
If a company claimed their internals accounting were assets, they would be prosecuted for fraud.

So is the top left quadrant less risky? Guessing based on failures in bottom right quadrant.

Yes it has a depletion date in 2034.
Anyone here claiming social security is fine have truely zero idea what they are talking about. The numbers of today are very much not the numbers of 2035. It's one of those things where the graph doesn't look so bad until you forecast 10 years out.
It would take HUGE large changes today to add a few years to the depletion date.

Thanks for doing the research. Super interesting. Wish it were easier to have a conversation about this in public. I love the idea of exploiting a moneyball style inefficiency.

“Popular Inc.” sounds like a bank the South Park kids would open after learning that bankers can gamble with other people’s money.

True, but I'm willing to bet the overall cost of home ownership in Missoula is still at the high end for the country. Really, that's the statistic that should be measured: overall cost of home ownership annually / median household income.
That would include taxes, insurance, and repairs/maintenance.

You need to remember this is by capacity. Renewable energy has about half the capacity factor than fossil fuels in usa, so in reality it's more like 65-70%
