Not sure I've ever seen data so perfectly aesthetically concise.

Yeah it's neverending. I had the mastectomy at 31 when they found the cancer, and I'm 35 now and we're starting to discuss removing my fallopian tubes now to reduce the ovarian cancer risks and ovaries later since I can't take hrt and my family history has issues related to menopause (very weak bone and heart health on my mom's side). Already had to have a surgery to check for issues with growths from tamoxifen after 2.5 years taking it. I'll probably be doing the tubes this summer. I want to eventually speak with my plastic surgeon about removing my implants and going flat. I've not "warmed up" to them and live in constant discomfort from the implants and just kind of want to be done with that. Anyway, chek2 and brca? Damn that's unlucky. I'm really sorry.

This is a really well put together chart. Always wonder how hormonal drugs work on cancer.
Wishing you for good health, body and spirit.

It also meant that until 1996, every county had a bank.

No, Georgia has 159 counties and laws restricting the formation of banks across the state. That means instead of a few large bank closures you get a ton of tiny ones

Why listing price and not actual sale price? Here in SF I see homes selling for 200k over list, or homes with an inflated listing price that never sell. Why would you want that in your data set?

I pay about 7k a year, the schools are halfway decent but otherwise don't really have anything to show for it.

I'm BRCA2 and CHEK2 as well. It means you are never done in my mind. I've had an oophorectomy and mastectomy, but I need colonoscopies every 3 years, skin scans every year, etc.

Our counties originally had to be small enough that you can ride a horse from anywhere to the county seat and back in a day. (Note: Fulton County is actually three original counties combine, hence its size)

This is a just a hunch but I imagine TX is lower here since the banks in TX consolidated a lot after the savings and loan crisis in the 80s.

I'm talking completely out of my ass, but my guess is out-of-state people buying expensive houses while the locals are making sub-par wages. Many places in Idaho are popular with people who want to move out of HCOL areas

I've only had breast reconstruction with no cancer and I feel like I've been put through the ringer with no end in sight to the surgeries and procedures and complications. I don't think I could have gotten through it had it been cancer as well. Kudos to you for fighting this hard.

I would also like to see what kind of mortgage loans the banks did as well. ARMs and people trying to get into the vacation homes in Florida was a bad combination.

Also, Alaska merged the municipal and county functions into boroughs.
Also also, Alaska has land that doesn't belong to any borough but is unincorporated, which makes Alaska the only state to have land within its state that isn't in a county.

Base rate fallacy is correct if you are analyzing the original point of Georgia being the worst. Its the issue of Georgia having a much larger number of banks and the graphic here is only showing the number of bank failures, not the percentage of banks that experienced a failure.
That is why both CA and FL are darker as well, you need more banks for more people. Its also pretty impressive how light TX and NY are when you realize they, alongside CA and FL, are the leading states by population by a wide margin.

Gotta move to Johnstown PA Less than $100,000 median sale price and $74K median household income sounds great It's not like it's been taken out by a massive floods three times or anything

I paid 2k in property taxes last year in Chicago and housing around me is mostly under 200k. Hardly breaking the bank. And I'm off a train line 15 minutes from downtown. Name another American city where that's possible .I'll take the affordability lol

I thought Delaware would have, well, all of them. But the state didn't implode in 2008 so duh.
