I think it's great that there is a growing number of people using and taking advantage of digital technology in their daily lives. It's also encouraging to know that digital technology can be used to create positive impacts in areas such as improved access to education, health, and communication. It's important to remember, however, that digital technology can also have negative effects, such as creating digital divide between those who have access to technology and those who do not. We should strive to make sure that everyone has access to technology and its benefits.

Correct. The Ukrainians that were urgently brought in are temporary residents, not immigrants. Many of them will likely qualify for PR once they have some Canadian experience, but as temporary residents there is an implicit understanding that they will leave before their status expires.

There's a few guesses I would make:

  • Remote work migration still in progress
  • A knock-on effect from the migratory wave caused by remote work - people getting priced out of areas moving to even cheaper areas, driving the price up in those areas
  • Investment firms buying up whatever cheap properties they can to use for investment

Correct, I’m not a regular contributor anymore, and haven’t been for years, for the reasons outlined.

Technically true yes the title is admin not mod, perhaps I have grown accustomed to Redditspeak. Although on reflection, there is little actual difference. If a Wiki admin rejects edits that you spent hours crafting, you have little recourse. You may argue the semantics, but at the end of the day, what they say goes.

I tried to discuss multiple times when fair edits were rejected, and was never, ever successful. So like many, I just gave up.

Enjoy your power. I’ve found more meaningful ways for me to contribute to society.
