Exactly. I remember a long long time ago seeing these kind of studies locally and then realising they counted things like eggshells and the husks of corn cobs. Those are technically 'food waste' but are definitely not wasted food.

Showing %difference is a better comparison rather than usual absolute figures in this case.

Ah I see what you're saying, although that was kind of the point I wanted to portray: that most of the funds are on the left and look minuscule compared to the few on the right.
And also that's why I posted the two grids for the bottom 20 and the top 20 since I thought it wasn't very helpful to show all 305 funds.
Thanks for the feedback though :)

Showing power law data on a linear axis can result in most of your data literally being invisible except for a couple of data points.

Noted.
How come? I feel like I tend to see "power laws" looking like this, when I Google it.

Pro tip, show power laws using a logarithmic axis

Where or how you got the data: Crunchbase.com and Sec.gov using Form D
The tool used to generate the visual: Subset.so (an easy to use spreadsheet on a canvas tool)

I didn’t read your comment but starting with “That’s like a” doesn’t really help whatever point you’re trying to make

You can't hire anyone to do anything is the USA for less than $15/hr. The minimum wage here must be the government law which the free market has doubled already.

Economies of scale. Flat screens were new-ish in the aughts. They were expensive things rich people had. Now that manufacturing processes have been refined and they can pump out millions a day, it's become significantly cheaper.

Didn't read it, but If they count peels as "food", the numbers are meaningless. "Organic waste" is not the same as "food waste".
