Salaries are easy to tax. But you don’t pay tax when your stock value increases until you sell some of it. So yeah, it’s not even a loophole.

Stuttgart airport does indeed have this name. I'm German myself and I never heard it before but I looked it up when I saw it on this map and it seems to be true.

This is hardly surprising, given that tax rates on wealthy people have been going down since the 50s. See https://video.twimg.com/tweet_video/EX62u9bXsAUtRO8.mp4

Right... I probably could have left out "Not Staying Home" haha.

Data Source: U.S. DOT Bureau of Transportation Statistics
Generated in Excel
Assumptions:
- National averages for 2019 data only (2020 and 2021 are outliers due to COVID, 2022 is not complete)
- Each "Trip Mile" category is calculated by multiplying the average of the range by the total number of trips taken for each respective category e.g. (# of trips)*(100+250)/2
- "Per Capita Not Staying Home" is a category in the data that differentiates the total population from the population who are actually travelling
- I am unsure if this includes commercial travel as well. Future analysis should differentiate this
Observations and Conclusions:
- Although >95% of trips taken are less than 30 miles, >50% of total miles travelled in a year are greater than 25 miles per trip.
- This says that a plug-in hybrid may not be as effective as the number of trips less than 30 miles would make it seem
- About 76% of total miles travelled in a year are less than 100 miles per trip.
- Maybe we don't actually need EV ranges >500 miles per charge!

Agreed, he's definitely worked hard to enough to deserve at least a trillion dollars. He's earned at least that much.

I never got why Oxford airport was called "London Oxford". It's 70 miles away from London.

Germany's busiest airports are Frankfurt and Munich aka "Franz Josef Strauss". There's no "Manfred Rommel" airport.

Ah, I knew there would be some mistakes, and that is a big miss on Munich.
Pisa is not in the data, since it was outside the top 101 in 2021. Hamburg, I probably should have counted. I was unsure what to do with christening, though I did count it for Stuttgart.

If I had to guess the problems are 1] lower wages makes the ratio higher, 2] in Syria’s case, war destroys existing buildings and takes resources away from building more, and 3] people aren’t living in “houses” so only the wealthy would have them, while most people live in apartments or more traditional buildings that don’t count

It’s not uncommon to see US territories listed separately (most lists have the Virgin Islands and Guam separate as well)

Interesting how most of northern Europe (specifically the British Isles, Benelux, Nordic countries) have no interest in naming airports after people.
