I took 7 years of French in NYC public schools and speak it well enough to vacation alone in France and talk to family there who barely speak any English. It’s rare but it happens

You sound like an npc, not an mc. Go play an mmorpg or a fps or something.
(Sorry only gamers will get this)

That’s kind of ironic because Japan got to where it is off of cheap consumer electronics in the 60s and 70s

All kids in Texas are required to take 2 years of a foreign language. Granted that’s not every year of K-12.

The big issue with viewership are RSN contracts requiring cable subscriptions at a time when people are ditching cable. It's a huge problem MLB is now looking to fix.
Recent example being Dodgers games having a multi-year blackout in their own home market. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/dodgers-tv-blackout-is-finally-over-for-some-fans-in-southern-california/

Quality number of applications, that done on purpose or just the universe working out splendidly?

Market share, so presumably profits rather than users

At the company I'm working at, we have 112 apps that only work on IE. When MS announced it would discontinue IE, there was some panic and a bunch of people needed to start porting stuff over. But Edge has IE mode until 2030, so this is a 2029 problem now.

I unfortunately can't afford university. I've been going around in person and sending out resumes on glassdoor and indeed.

I'm the opposite. My work uses Edge, so I use Chrome for personal stuff. It's surprising how much different the two can feel if I just use them in different settings.

This mirrors my experience searching for an articling job...although I probably sent twice as many applications just to end up with a min wage job.

Almost same here, I was planning on applying for various internships and did submit my resume for some places but I only really put in the effort for one of them. That place gave me an interview, and a few days later, they told me I was accepted, so I guessed no need to continue the rest lol.

>I once read that children of immigrants tend to have a poorer grasp of both languages because they learn the reading and writing and grammar in school while speaking their native tongue at home but not learning the grammar and such as well.
Grandmama's generation was first generation, and they all spoke Italian...but Mama's generation didn't, because their parents would all speak Italian so the kids wouldn't understand them.
That the story I got, anyway.
