Yeah, like the big dude is just a bit scarred up from getting attacked by adventurers who don’t realize he’s not a threat. He’s also the leader and protector of these underfolk. He has the decency to wear a loincloth to cover himself up. They’re all popping out of the woodwork because they don’t get much visitors, let alone someone unarmed and not in armor. And its a woman, which they’ve never seen before. Total curiosity.

I get the vibe that all these scary looking creatures are actually quite peaceful and that she’s visited them for some wisdom or an answer to a question that will save her kingdom from a problem it’s currently suffering.

This is interesting because when I was a young kid at the beach, adults were always warning us about the undertow. "Dont go out that far, the undertow will get you". I was not entirely clear what we were supposed to be afraid of, but you have finally illustrated it.

It's definitely horrifying but also cute somehow? The one on the wall is scary... or is it a sewer cat, watching the stranger in its home with its hackles raised?
