The sunlit side, I mean. The rest belongs in the trash.

Reply to Boston could be first municipality to require stores, restaurants, and hotels to donate leftover food by uxd
I used to manage at Finale in Coolidge Corner. I was shocked we had to throw out all the leftover food. I was younger and didn't understand the public health aspect of it, but still, would be nice to see the city change it's tune.

Nope, I bike or take public transportation since that’s the reasonable thing to do in a major metropolitan area. Granted though, gotta pay sticker price for that T pass.

It would come with cameras installed in your bathroom and no closed door policy.

Reply to Heavy Metal Clubs? by parbageglate
From the details you’ve listed, it sounds like you’re looking for Ralph’s in Worcester. The Middle East in Cambridge has multiple spaces within the venue and is probably in your size range. But speaking personally as someone in the Boston metal scene, I’d always rather go to a show at O’Briens in Allston than the Middle East, though they definitely have a smaller capacity.

Because progressives like feel-good, look-at-me-I'm-doing-something politics?
And I agree. This would be nightmare to administer. I can even see restaurants putting practices in place to insure the food spoils such that it is not donateable.

I will never give anybody one red cent before I have signed a lease. If they even ask I'm probably going to drop it. I try to view as many apartments as possible once the hunt begins and string them all along to keep my options open until I've actually signed

I get that. But there are hotels on 128 too. You don’t see the kind of private plane traffic at most major airports (I think, I know it’s easy to look it up, but let me just go on “feels” for this one. 😂)

What the hell is wrong with the SNAP (food stamps) program? It work well and the federal government administers the program with no cost to MA.
Turning Boston into a some sort of mecca for free food sounds like a great way to invite the sort of problems San Francisco has with its homeless population.

Reply to Boston Tourism - Where to stay by JRychley
It is more about what you are comfortable with, especially if something breaks and you have to react on the fly. When we were in London there was a tube strike and we had to scramble a bit, luckily a Bobby was able to help us out. Boston is wicked safe so don't really worry about that.
If you don't want to stay right downtown, look at Somerville, Quincy, Cambridge, Malden, Revere. Many of the hotels do a pick up/drop off situation from the local transit stop.
Avoid coming over the 3rd week of April, everything is expensive and full.

It’s an abomination. And it isn’t even functional. Spend five minutes inside thinking about efficiency and space utilization and you’ll want to tear it down.
