Vote for bike and transit infrastructure in Quincy. I commute from Cambridge to Quincy via the T and would love it if they invested in either the Blue bike network or a light rail network. Washington Street is begging for better transit options and more mixed use development.

Definitely. They moved the tables a few years ago as it was so crowded and unsafe as the tables were on the street now they are on the common. I buy from one of the women on etsy. Omg she has the most fabulous and fun candles. Just bought my third today since October. There are so many different types of tables but I like the handmade ones best.

There were payment terminals at surface stations that dispenses a paper proof of payment ticket. There WERE inspectors boarding the trains at random and checking people's cards/receipts, and if anyone didn't have one they got a fine. This is the same system that many European cities use.

After about a year of this, those machines sat unused for 8 years before they were installed on the Fairmount line where they are in use today.

Not quite. That system was the people would enter through any door and then fight there way up to the front to pay at the the kiosk by the driver. With the new system there won't be a kiosk at the front. There will be touchpoints throughout the car, and when you get on you tap at any touchpoint. There will be inspectors boarding the trains at random and checking people's cards/phones, and if anyone didn't tap in they get a fine. This is the same system that many European cities use.

And this is why I’ll never work a 9-5 I can’t commute to quickly & easily. No amount of money is worth putting yourself through this amount of mental torture twice a day

The other poster’s comment was on point, but to answer your question, you fill out a form online and they notify national grid for you. All you need is your national grid account number to make the change. Here’s the link for the municipal aggregation program, https://www.mass.gov/info-details/municipal-aggregation - select your town and then enroll in the program.

This is my mom. I've tried explaining it to her, she just gets mad. I've given up.

At the same time she's been bitching for months now about the two single-family homes going up across the street from her house "because it is too dense".

Boomers gonna boom.

You know, I was on 93 south around 6, and I was pleasantly surprised by how zippy my journey was. No traffic. Braintree split? No traffic. I was shooketh. I smiled with glee as I sped towards my destination much faster than I was expecting.

huh.
