Based on the opinions of a few of my lawyer friends, lawyers also have a "fuck lawyers" attitude, so I don't think they would mind

I am, and yeah they were insane. I really love the band and have been desperate to see a good show for the last couple months so I sprung for it. That being said what is going on with concert tickets right now is criminal and unsustainable.

Why would that be illegal? Assuming it’s a broker renting it out. 99% of rentals require a deposit. They are choosing it to be half the fee as the deposit.

A cheap DIY option: If you’re handy with an X-Acto knife and basic photo editing software, Walgreens is currently offering a free 8”x10” photo print using coupon code "BIG-LUCK" at checkout.

Reply to Is Ashmont Safe? by [deleted]
I live up on ashmont hill and would regard the area as quite safe. I’ve never had an issue with packages being stolen and I haven’t seen any locked cars broken into( unlocked cars is a different story, lock your cars!) I walk to the restaurants on Dot Ave regularly at night and never had anyone bother me. The T is still the T so you get some issues but that’s not specific to ashmont. While my favorite restaurant, the ashmont Grill closed recently, There’s still plenty of great places to eat, and things to do around here. All in all I would say definitely consider it as the area only gets better and better every year and it’s a lot more affordable than many other areas in Boston

Go gauge it yourself. Black and Hispanic people do live there, if that’s your underlying question.

Trump was somehow allowed to set his own assessments- city does that for us.
Low for taxes, high for sales.

Doom scrolling Zillow and Redfin is fun because you can find 350k stickers popup and have a slight glimmer of hope only to realize that's for an acre of woods or a 90 year old shack with literal holes in the floor

People who do this and people who ride bikes on the sidewalk (thinking of you, girl riding on Mass Ave between Symphony and Hynes) during rush hour are fucking dipshits

Time in the market beats timing the market. If you really have your heart set on Boston and can afford to buy now, you should just go outside the metro area until you can find something you can afford and buy. Build up that equity, then if the situation improves in Boston, cash out the equity and buy in Boston. If not, stay where you are.
If you're ready to buy now and keep waiting, you're going to lose in the end with inflation eating away at that down payment.

"The operator of a bicycle shall ride at a speed no greater than an ordinary walk when on a sidewalk or when entering or leaving a sidewalk."
You're technically allowed, but you can't really operate it at normal biking speed.

In theory, but in practice, the bar association PROBABLY isn't going to discipline them for being a deadbeat or a tenant from hell unless they either do something that makes the news or piss someone important off. The light most favorable to the landlord here is that they previously had a lawyer tenant who was an absolute nightmare and then did everything in their power to drag out the eviction process and fight a war of attrition.
