Reply to ‘A housing market for almost no one’: Rising prices and interest rates have made home buying feel impossible - The Boston Globe by uxd
I’m lucky and bought in a cheap city in 2019 and my rate is low. I started looking in the area for a bigger house and yard for my girlfriend and our dogs. Even with what I’d make off selling my house I couldn’t come close to my monthly payment right now.
I have no idea how people are going to afford houses or condos now.

I am stuck on 93 North and a duck taking a leisurely walk with his snail friend could reach my destination faster than me.

the MBTA makes $200M/yr in fares. The CharlieCard system was put in place in 2006. So in another 17 years, when it's time for another overhaul, this system will have barely paid for itself. And that's not counting maintenance and ongoing service fees.
Literally make public transportation free. It works.

Can someone link to the project's website? It genuinely does not make sense for something like this to be 3 years behind and $212m over budget.

I guess that makes sense, but what are the odds of a lawyer not following poi ts 1-3? Seems like something that would hurt their own professional reputation and career.

Usually, you get one warning to get out of the way and then you get popped in the mouth. Consider yourself real lucky it was a nice guy who you pulled your antics with.

I’m calling BS on this, unless you have significant building heating that you’re able to piggyback off of.

Pretty sure there are signs saying don't stand in front of the doors unless they removed them

Employment isn't, but family status is. "Single occupancy only" is frequently used as an example of things that it is illegal to say in a rental ad.

Got it. Perhaps I was a bit defensive. I’d say it’s better than being offensive, but the jury’s out on that. Who am I to judge?

Just don’t stand in front of the doors! It’s only awkward standing in the aisle if you make it awkward. Literally no one cares if you’re out of the goddamn way.

Don’t stand in front of the doors. If you must stand in front of the doors, do it on the side that won’t be opening. Simple as that.
He was an asshole, you were an asshole. Everybody lost. Congratulations.
