Damn insults that aren’t funny or clever just make people look stupid.

i don’t know if this applies but since you’re asking about T etiquette and said you’re new to Boston and here for school - do not wear your backpack on the T. put it in the floor between your legs so it’s not taking up any additional space. there’s nothing worse than trying to navigate a crowded car and having to push through backpacks that are swinging back at you like saloon doors.

Having to pay half the broker fee is illegal. Seems they want people who don't know their rights and they can scare them to keep quiet and just accept it.

Yeah it’s always easiest to just get off the train then re-enter if you can’t let people pass easily.
I actually prefer doing this if my stop is coming up, that way I’m close to the exit

To avoid this in the future, stand in the isles — not in front of the door.

If he had ample space to go around you to exit, then fuck him, you're fine. Standing in the doorway while traveling is normal at all hours, but during busier hours, you want to step off the train just off to the side/outside the door so folks can get in and our without the entryway being blocked by your body. But if it was a near-empty car, then that guy probably just wanted to be a dick. Just have general spacial awareness is the main idea

You're lucky he didn't grab you by the neck and drag you out of the train. Blocking the door, refused to get out of the way, and then tripped him? Wild.

Try not to stand in front of the doors

Remember that the next time you need one, and don’t call for the help.

Sorry, to be clear, I meant loading a Charlie card without having to be at a station. You can do it here
Since it’s stored value, you’d still need to tap at a fare machine or subway gate… so your kinda fucked if you want the bus.

Get out of the way. If people are trying to exit then step out to one of the sides of the door and wait for all people to finish exiting

Realistically who cares about the MPH, NERD, stop riding on the sidewalk.

It’s very, very strange. MA otherwise has among the tenant friendliest laws in the country.

Interesting. This seems incredibly random. Own a two family? Discriminate against everyone, it’s no problem. 3 decker? Nope. Also if kids bother you, feel free to discriminate, as long as you’re elderly.

So let me get this straight, you stood at the entrance where you shouldn’t have and tripped someone who is trying to leave. Model citizen right here.

First, don't block an exit.
Second, if you do end up accidentally blocking an exit, stop blocking it as quickly as possible, especially if someone has indicated that they need to use the exit. (That was the holding the same railing as you bit.) This can mean moving into the car, stepping out of the car, whatever. Just stop blocking it.
Third, don't fucking trip someone. Ever. For any reason.
Fourth, when you do commit assault in a location that has plenty of security cameras, don't come crying to Reddit and ask us what you did wrong.
