Ask boston.gov.

Benches need to be temperature-resistant. People should be able to enjoy them regardless of temperature!

There's also a great interactive map where you can find one near you, so you can go sit on it.

"It's very difficult to find the right balance between supporting families and being present, and reaching out with services and support behind closed doors, rather than running in front of cameras — that actually retraumatizes and elevates experiences that families don't want to live through ever again"

I see one quote from one person, not "the black community" that she very obviously isn't ignoring. Nice try though

If you consider the FTA's recent involvement, the T has had federal oversight for some time as well. I can't find the source now but i read a few times that Poftak and Baker went back a ways - so no matter how bad Stevie fucked up the T, he was never getting fired. That's why it's continued to decline. It's no coincidence he gtfo as soon as Maura was taking over.

Benches already have two arms.

On these benches, there's not enough space between the two arms for two people to sit comfortably, yet there is enough space between the arms to require an extraordinarily agile "old person" to be able to use both arms simultaneously to get up..

It's always refreshing to find someone who thinks "old people" were just invented this year though.

also, what makes a bench "temperature resistant?"

That’s why I went out during the snow and rain and cleared off my car so all the snow wouldn’t turn to ice overnight..

A few years ago I lived in an apartment complex and we had a small snowstorm followed by rain/ice. I was the only one to go out first thing in the morning and clear snow from my car. 8 hours later everyone else came out and literally had to chisel inches of ice off of their cars. Many gave up. It was comical.

I would also search up summer jobs on Cape Cod that may also include housing/visa sponsorship. Traditionally there are a larger number of people coming in from overseas to fill those positions. There are trains, ferries, and busses that run to Boston from the Cape, but it may not be what you want if you are looking to live in Boston.
