I’m not saying more safety would be bad, but what I am saying is if you go to DTX and look at where the third rail is, it is baffling that someone could have touched it without deliberately climbing down onto active train tracks and trying to cross to the other platform instead of walking around the proper way which takes all of two minutes. You can’t break into electricity’s house and then act surprised when he’s home!

3rd rail is where the train gets its electric feed from. If you see on the tracks, there are 2 rails where the train runs on and a "third rail" that is raised up and parallel that has an electric current running through. The train has a few contact shoes on each car that basically rub against it and gain electric current, allowing it to operate. This is for the red, blue, and orange lines. The green line uses catenary, which has direct contact from overhead wires and uses a pantograph system, rubbing under the wire to gain an electric current.

Its touch/flag until middle school. They spend a ton of time on fundamentals and proper tackle technique so that when they get to the tackle age the chance of a high hit or head to head contact is minimized. All three love it. We play at Pine Banks park and it’s $50 for the summer…practices are Mon, Wed, Fri from 6:30-8 with several Saturday jamborees around New England.

Edit: cost is actually $65 for flag/touch and $75 for tackle for the year.

Even if the person were a minority, how would you even know… ?

We’re talking about a crazy person shoving ppl in front of trains. Any politics you try to put on it is wild speculation unless the perpetrator actually says that’s why they did it.

IT is so that they can focus cause are men's team is not so good. (Our women's team is quite good).

Distractions must be limited, especially after our dismal hockey showing this season. It is the catholic way. Our lacrosse monks

People think that when parking enforcement officers see an orange envelope, they move on? lol

They take that envelope, check when it was written and then if it’s past the threshold, they will write another ticket. They’ve been doing this for years.

Depends upon your definition of a “good deal.” Are you including all aspects of teachers’ working conditions? I’ve never seen any teacher claim that Massachusetts teacher salaries aren’t above national average?

The issue is that, due to HCOL, many towns and cities still don’t pay enough for teachers to live in the communities in which they teach.

If it was such a good deal, you’d think that you’d see tons of people signing up for this job, but in fact, 50% quit within 5 years. I can only imagine what is the actual percentage of teachers who make it the complete length of service to receive a full pension.

Just find a spot where you can park legally. It’s a weekend so a lot of those commercial vehicle only spots are only valid Monday through Friday but people don’t read the sign and leave the spot open

I've definitely seen a car with a few tickets on it. The meter person has a route for the day so if they know that they didn't give you the ticket and they're the only one on that route, that the car is fair game to give another ticket to.

"In June, when the FTA published interim findings of its safety probe, the operations control center had only 15 rapid transit dispatchers total."

"As of Friday, the operations control center had 21 permanent heavy-rail dispatchers employed, five who were performing those duties while “on loan” from other MBTA departments, and another three in training"

So they have 21 now, 5 of whom are on loan. 21 - 5 = 16. They had 15 before, meaning they've only hired one new person.
