They have full police powers in every city and town that T operates in.

They are facing a crime wave on public transit similar to what NYC has been through.

Watertown was absolutely crawling with cops from many jurisdictions, federal, state and local that day. I think the shootout had university cops as well. The mbta cops were hardly the only people who were dealing with thay

This data's already collected. Doesn't take much to develop a dashboard for public use and transparency. There were hundreds of complaints about the lack of transparency last week, and now there are complaints about the spending on being transparent...

I got robbed once on the bus, and they were very helpful in insisting it was some kid who was much shorter then the guy who robbed me. Kept asking me if I was sure, that it sounded like this was the guy, etc…
Hope that kid didn’t get blamed by the next victim they pressured to id him

It should be done at some point, regardless. Also, could you elaborate on your $10bil number?
If we manage to do all that, then it will be possible to run trains without drivers and we’ll be able to run trains a lot more frequently.
Speaking long term, one of the biggest recurring costs to transit systems in expensive, modern cities like Boston is paying for operators of the system. Eliminating that when we can would be quite nice.
