That's hilarious actually lol
But if you think about the type of shit that a train driver has to deal with on the daily and the horrible attitude that forms because of it, would you want to be a dispatcher who then has to deal with those train drivers?

Any organization with over 5000 employees where people don't want to move up to supervisory positions has a very toxic organizational culture. You can't have an Army of PFC's and Spec Fours - you need Captains, Majors and Colonels to lead, and it looks like the MBTA simply can't find leaders within its own ranks.

If there's that many psychos pushing people on the tracks that it's really necessary, we're kind of fucked anyway.

Lol but they never did it and he still got pushed onto the tracks though. What's your point?

Even that might not save some of us. I am a tiny woman and I have often considered how easy it would be for someone to simply pick me up and toss me off the platform.

No because it would be ludicrously expensive. People keep bringing it up though.

Are you perhaps suggesting installing RFID scanners on trains so they know exactly how far they are from the platform, and then giving each train a config file so it knows it's individual braking distance at a particular speed, and then doing a single mathematical operation at runtime?
8 billion dollars and 12 years or it's a no go I'm afraid, we simply don't have the tech yet /s

You could also stop that from happening by the means of law enforcement.

List is pretty good, but you're missing USS Constitution and Cassin Young. Bunker Hill is nearby if you want to check that out and there's a nice view from the top.

Teachers get a really good deal in Massachusetts, especially in Boston. They will never admit it but the salaries are much higher than national average and you get an unbelievable benefits package.

FERS isn't great. It's 1% of your high 3 years multiplied by the number of years of service. If you exceed 20 years it's 1.1%.
If you do 40-50 years, it's nice since you still collect social security and you likely have TSP but the number of people I've seen get that far is really low.

I was forewarned. Took the commuter rail instead. The walk there was three times as long but I actually got to work on time

They've literally hired one new dispatcher. It took them a year to do it.
They went from 15 to 16.
This is why everyone thinks the MBTA is a sad joke.
