To anyone who doesn’t have a NYT subscription, “policing as we know it must be abolished before it can be transformed.” The article isn’t about permanently abolishing police. Americans have actually been talking about the “bad apples” in the police force since at least Prohibition. It’s evidently not working.

Fair enough. Like I was explaining to an irate fellow commuter couple months back about that - this is the symptoms of a society that allowed the Opioid Crisis, and didn't place a serious commitment to mental health. (obviously there's a whole cocktail of contributing factors, but those seem the top two).

I deal with the homeless pretty much daily coming and going through there. I don't like it anymore than anyone else.

It's a goddamn shame, but the real solutions apparently are out of reach of our state and city officials, no?

The Boston Calendar does weekly lists. You can sometimes find good ideas in Boston Magazine, too.

This town has sorely needed an arts and entertainment-focused publication since the Boston Phoenix folded (a decade ago now). That was the go-to place for listings (and also thoughtful reviews) for many years. May it RIP along with the Improper Bostonian and the Weekly Dig.

Here is just the dashboard

It's pretty useless, the conclusion is that we already knew the trips were hugely delayed with trains just moving at a slow crawl, sucks to be using the Red Line from JFK/UMass, that's got the single biggest delay.
