This morning I was laughing as I was driving on 93 north. Every once in a while a layer of snow would pop off a car and go flying into the air like some sort of car confetti celebration.

It’s a great job if you like the fish and game stuff, if you like autonomy, and if you’re tough enough to handle the inevitable confrontation with a pissed-off hunter.

Right? That is at least two week’s groceries and it was illegal. Treating $250 like a small amount not worth the hassle is some rich nonsense.

Meh, I learned to ski in the mountains and I used to scoff at the little ski areas around here, too. But the truth is, it’s still skiing and it’s still fun, and the fact that you can hop in the car on a whim and be on the slope in 20-40 minutes, without having to plan an expensive multi-day trip, is definitely appealing.

I brushed off the top of my car and had that thin layer of ice left that just wouldn’t come off. I felt so guilty later when I heard the whole thing slide off at a stop sign.

Sure, with any safety feature some people are bound to ignore it. Heck maybe someone crafty enough just cuts a cord or unplugs a sensor.

But I'd bet you could greatly reduce the number of uncleared cars for a pretty small amount of money overall.

(I was recently diagnosed by a psychologist in a different system, but they could only give me a giant list of places to try calling for a psych appointment. I instead tried calling a Mass General Brigham location that would have been very convenient for me, but the scheduling staff sounded offended I would even ask without having a PCP at MGB despite 5 of 5 psychiatrists showing as "accepting new patients" online.)
