I'm honestly not sure what you're referring to. In the state of Massachusetts, there are very specific laws outlining security deposits and none of them specify that a security deposit be held in an account that cannot be accessed by the landlord. Similarly, I do not know what piece of legislature you feel mandates court approval to deduct anything from the security deposit.

Baker funneled money to the RNC, fought women's reproductive rights and trans* rights, sent our resources to Trump's border wall, and did his best to kick kids off healthcare. Democrats are the decent fiscally conservative, socially liberal party.

Don't just look at presidential general election results. Plymouth County is probably the reddest county. It went for Diehl vs Warren. There are some extreme Republicans in our state legislature, and in town government (like the January 6 insurrectionist elected to the Braintree school board. To quote The Wolf, let's not star sucking each other's dicks just yet. There's plenty to fix in MA too.

I went to Suffolk and lived in the dorms for 2 of my 4 undergrad years, as well as later getting an MPA at the Business School. I also worked there as a Staff member for years.

I would say it really depends on your program and trajectory. If you are trying to figure out what you want to do, go to UMASS Boston for cost and exploration and transfer elsewhere.

I was interested in a career in politics/public service and Suffolk's location, program, and connections locally were amazing. The campus is also in the heart of the city and at this point they have 4 or 5 beautiful dorms on Beacon Hill, Tremont St, City Hall Plaza, and the Theatre District.

Being within a 5-15 minute walk from City Hall, The State House, and multiple major state and federal agencies was a godsend for internships and jobs.

It was also expensive. Again there are some great programs at Suffolk - but your program needs to be a strength of the school to be worth it.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Not OP but I was diagnosed as an adult but had all the signs since forever but got by in school but really struggled. I soooo wish I’d had the chance to properly learn clearly and not constantly feel like I’m behind while also not being a fucking wreck of lingering anxiety and social isolation.

Even if you decide to just start with therapy please consider it.
