As a New Englander for more than 40 years, I can tell you there has always been a subset of people who wear shorts year-round. But 15-20 years ago people started posting their photos online for you to see. And apparently you were angry about it.

Before that, only their moms got upset about it, and only because it made the moms cold to see it.

If it's $2000 that can only go up to $2200 but there's enough demand where that same place can be listed for $2600, a landlord can and will do that. Even if they're losing a full month's rent to re-list it (most likely, they'd just shift the next tenant to a mid month lease), that increase would pay itself off within a few months.

It's a market problem. Any solution not focused on the root problem of supply is going to be inadequate and ineffective.

Morrissey Blvd should just be raised and the bridge should be high enough to let most boats thro. As someone who operated the granite ave bridge and would turn off the radio to the other bridges because of how many requests would come thro for that bridge(some time 2-5 mins apart from each other). Also most boat residents frankly feel cool when they call the bridge to have it opened when a majority of the time it’s their antenna that need to be lowered to fit under… Simply why block traffic to hundred of people at a time for one small marina!
