Just like VT, NH, and Maine, which have 1/6-1/3 our state's gun homicide rate while having basically no gun laws amirite

I honestly think a $20 toll on 93 and 90 is overdue. The traffic is out of control

Newark to Manhattan is roughly 12 miles or 18 mins ride in the train. That’s the equivalent of Newton to Boston… They are roughly the same price in the commuter rail
Newark to NYC is more expensive when using the Path vs the T

You need more tracks… I’ll never understand why we don’t have more tracks. It doesn’t take that much space compared to highways

Hi. It’s me a progressive here.
Raise my taxes. Please.
Use it to provide universal pre-k. Feed kids free lunch at school. Provide free after school programs. Free subway service for all city residents. Lower T fares for commuter rail. Raise on street parking prices. Tax the fuck out of parking lots in the city. Add a congestion tax.
K thx

Hyde park to Forest hills: don’t we have busses for that? All zone 1a to zone 1 have alternate cheaper options such as the bus or the T.

How about having a father in the house? Nearly all of these kids that get involved in drugs, gangs, and violence don't have a father living with them.

You can just lower the required AMI percentage though. I mean, that’s literally what urban planners are advocating for. This isn’t a “well the market is God and we can’t do anything about it” situation.
EDIT: I think you might be confused. The cities official requirement to meet the “affordable housing” baseline is 70% AMI. That’s the rule. I’m not talking about a market result.

I like how the current red line stops at Ashmont then you have to transfer for the mattapan line if you choose to, otherwise if they were connected it would be a whole lot more sketchy

That's not a direct trip. That $8.75 is $3.50 for a ticket from Hyde Park to Canton Junction, and $5.25 for a second ticket from Canton Junction to Providence. You were looking at a time when there were no trains that stopped at both Hyde Park and Providence.
A single Interzone 8 ticket is $6.25.

Yeah that's true and it would reduce the cost of living for those who do make it into the program, but the affordable housing program is already overloaded as it is and the winners and losers are chosen by a lottery system. Even if the AMI requirement is lowered it would just put more stress on the affordable housing program without actually creating any additional housing, and as it stands the program is already being forced to turn people away. Unless more housing is built the program will further solidify itself as a poverty trap since increasing your income would drop you off a welfare cliff, and the market prices will only keep rising until more units are built.
