We shouldn't try one solution because you feel / are aware of past attempts where it was doomed to line the pockets of individuals and not create the needed housing? That's how I feel about the free market bullshit but you don't see me saying not to try it.

I was mostly being sarcastic but I do find it strange that the government bans advertising of things that are “harmful” instead of letting us make our own decisions.

They haven't even seen a black person before yet they still put up those signs. How selfless they must be!

I am all for bikes but this does not change the fact alcohol is also a horribly addictive killer and lacks many of the redeeming values of cars.

It's cool to experience the vibe, but the couple times I've gone (bringing people who hadn't been yet) I've been pretty underwhelmed with service and food, especially considering the price. I'm sure I'll keep trying, though

Big Auto would never allow this lol. I like the silver line light rail idea, but I don’t see how it happens above ground.

It needs another inner loop approximately with the 86 or 66 bus goes.
Love that the Millis line is reborn.

Serious question: apartment buildings are being slapped up left and right everywhere. Chelsea, Revere, Allston, Cambridge, seaport, the list goes on. Who is living in them?! And why isn’t more housing fixing the renting issues? I mean, everyone claims rent control is a bad solution, and building more housing is better. But all I see is housing being built, but renting hasn’t improved

Why? The ban has been extremely effective in reducing smoking especially among the youth and has arguably saved tens of thousands of lives.

Man the regular drip of violent crime in certain neighborhoods is really depressing. Then at the end of the year someone will post a link to all the murder victims in the city and they will all be the same part of the city and almost entirely black. Does anyone else get a sort of boys in the hood feeling out of this? The city allows the cycle of violence to continue and no one really cares enough to change anything. Going back to the line from the movie,
“One out of 21 black American males will be murdered in their lifetime. Most will die at the hands of another black male.”
and this

So deaths are ok as long as they are offset by convenience?
