S&S is NOT GOOD AT ALL. My GF is Jewish and she likes it however for their tuna salad.
I like Kupels in Brookline. It’s decent. The best Jewish restaurants are in the rust belt cities like Cleveland or Philadelphia.

Used to be that way then it was closed Tuesday’s to restock and now it just normal Tuesdays. Absolutely recommend as they have a great selection and a good size selection too from petite to plus.

Wally’s has a tiny footprint. A hassle to get in. Hassle to order a drink. Hassle to find a seat. God bless them though.

If you must get outside of Boston I’d recommend Cape Ann on our North Shore. Easy drive that’s less than one hour. Plum Island, Essex, Ipswich and Rockport for seafood, birding, the ocean etc.

PFML gives a max 26 weeks per year. That’s 6.5 months. Baby was 8 months old. Even if this family did qualify for and take the max, which is unlikely, that’s 1.5 months of unassisted anguish.

Depends on debt and such, but assuming you get to keep everything aside from taxes and retirement savings you'll be able to find something. But you won't be living in luxury towers in downtown Boston on that. You'll be looking for places in Jamaica Plain or Malden on the orange line.

totally agree that delivery kills quality but sometimes I'm super lazy haha. I've tried places in chinatown but not specifically for dumplings - i just tried winsor dim sum last week! I havent even considered allston though, do you have any good places to try

Intersectional oppression = low pay = bad tips.
It’s not poor morals/manners…librarians and art teachers, while lovely human beings, are also terrible tippers (source: worked as a waitress at a restaurant that served mostly conventions. The librarian/art teacher conventions were much nicer than the dentists/cardiac surgeons, but they tipped like crap.

I would recommend grabbing a pie at Figs in Charlestown and walking up to the Bunker Hill monument, especially during the warm summer nights. Figs' quality has gone down hill and their prices have gone up, but it's still fun.
