I don’t have many questions but my family comes from Norway and Finland, so my great grandma used to tell me Norse tales when I was little. Now that I’m older I’m curious about what they believed at the time and would like to read more stories that I never heard. One of my favorites that I can recall was her telling me about Tyr being left handed (I’m left handed), it made me feel cool 😂

I enjoyed it, and it wasn't an original story with a Norse setting. It was more like a simplified novel that showcases events from the mythology in an abridged, broad format.

There are definitely more detailed versions of the Saga's out there but it was pretty faithful as a beginner's introduction to them imo.

For books I want to remember well, I always take notes the next day about the section I read the previous day. This increases my retention by like 1000%.

I think doing the note-taking on different days is actually important for retention purposes.

Toxic fandom is awful. Gatekeeping fandoms too.

Not specifically book related, but an artist I follow on IG posted something a year or two about Star Wars and the new Obi-Wan show. I forget the exact question, but it was along the lines of “who’s excited about more Skywalker stuff?” I said not me. For a literal universe, why is everything centered around this one family.

I’ve never reported so many accounts before. I got some vicious DMs about my response.

I know Star Wars fans can be pretty bad, but JFC.
