Reply to comment by Few_Society5388 in WHERE TO FIND GRANTS- I’m thinking of opening a small business in Baltimore. Where can I look for grants for something like this? It would be in the arts and woman owned. by hyperr129
Also BCAN usually does a monthly (?) roundup of grants.

I went to Carey Law and lived in Mt. Vernon. I did Charles to Baltimore or Fayette and never had a problem.
There’s also a free shuttle that UMB offers if you’re a student.
I also would advise deleting the map of your route from Reddit.

In your opinion this is a bad option for the neighborhood?

Thank you for the insight. I’m glad people like you are on here to explain the details. I’m not business minded, I live in Southwest Baltimore and work with residents from the Edmondson Village area. I know this shopping center needs help, I don’t know enough about business to understand the details of this.
I’m your opinion is this something we residents should protest so city council doesn’t approve it?

NOPE! Go N Charles to W Baltimore.
The area you’re thinking of walking through is debatable on safe during the day and otherwise not so much.

That doesn’t mean that the people who work for Catholic charities aren’t great, helpful, dedicated people. I know quite a few and they do a lot of good.

Mystic Burrito might be a bit casual but their burritos are phenomenal! Honestly, hand to god the best I've had in the city. There is huge lettering on the wall that says BYOB so that's my only info on whether or not they allow for outside bevvies.

That’s a big issue, one of my favorite things is how they try to promote literacy at home first and offer resources for parents too

I'm a woman and I've done Park to Baltimore (and vice versa) many, many times. Never had a problem. I would recommend against doing Saratoga, Franklin, or Mulberry. Saratoga is too sketchy and the others are too empty. Taking Charles works as well.

Get a bike. Ride East on Baltimore to the bike lane on liberty. Take that north to the basilica then head one block home however feels best.

Villagio cafe on York near Towson. Lots of vegetarian options. Also on the same block is a duck pin bowling ally that is also BYOB

It's kinda magical back there with all the stones and pavers. Oddly my favorite section. I specifically got mine at the Catonsville Home Depot, but they probably have them at Eastern Avenue Home Depot.

I also wanted lean into the point that not all Christians are anti-immigrant. My mother has work with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services for many many years. They do fantastic amazing incredible work simply because its the right thing to do. No parades or fancy costumes necessary.
