Always enjoyed myself going there and definitely scratched that itch I had after visiting New Orleans.

Now if I could only find a place that does a roast beef pohboy. We've had pohboys in Baltimore for forever but it's always seafood. In New Orleans I had a roast beef pohboy every day I was there it was so good and on almost every casual places menu I went to down there. Never would have guessed it was such a staple.

If you book ahead of time or get one of the multi-trip passes it's much less expensive than that (I'd budget ~$100 round trip, but you can often get cheaper tickets on the Northeast Regional) and Amtrak really is the best experience. Make use of the loyalty program and any discounts (student, veteran, disability, etc.) you qualify for. Ask you job about commute/travel benefits. For reference, driving would likely also be at least $100 round trip due to tolls/gas/etc.

I completely agree. I should have noted that this is the first time I've lived specifically in this region. The mix of driving methods and ideas makes for a wild time guessing how people are gonna act. And it may be a bias, but I've noticed that Jersey plates here in Maryland drive especially crazy when compared to others.
