Didn't you yourself say that the argument was correct, but you're rejecting it anyway due to word choice?

They usually keep a gate open for people in wheelchairs - I see a lot of people walk through, no need to jump metro gates in Baltimore. The fare machines don't work sometimes and they'll just wave you through.

There are obviously people who do outdoor stuff around here. However, the outdoor culture out west is SIGNIFICANTLY more active. That's my point.

Well, yeah, but here in B'more a "hack" was unlicensed. Kinda an informal taxi system in minority neighborhoods. See, Baltimore has a real history of serious racism and segregation for a "Northern" city (see: redlining, white-only deed covenants, etc.). Taxi companies, even up into the 70s wouldn't take call-outs to Black neighborhoods, and would frequently refuse to pick up Black fares when hailed. As a result, an informal network of unlicensed "hacks" serviced those communities, and both driving a hack and hailing a hack for a ride are both referred to as "hacking". The practice persists, primarily because hacks tend to charge a flat negotiated rate that's cheaper than a commercial taxi service.

That’s not true at all. There are several hiking groups with anywhere from several hundred to several thousand members.
They hike both local to baltimore all the way to PA, WV, VA for day hikes.
If you want to put 15-25 miles in, it’s a 1.5-3 hour trip to get out to the mountains.
I personally day hike in Shenandoah on a regular basis and I live in the city.
OP check out Hiking Upward.

Ding, ding, ding!! Who's more trustworthy? A person who helps you privately or a person that does good makes themselves look and feel better?

Good. So we have people who are without traditional places to live of their own. What CAN be done about it and what WILL be done about it?
The problem is not a secret and there is an ability to fix it, sadly not much desire to change the status quo

It's not complicated to see that you and and another person actually agree on something but that the actual discord is caused because that other person worded it differently than you

It's also based on one night out of the entire year, specifically one of the coldest nights of the year, intentionally. The federal theory is that "people who CAN find a place to stay but choose not to during bearable weather will be staying somewhere on the coldest night" as if this somehow makes the count more accurate.
Anyway, if you and some friends scrape together enough money for a motel room on the night of the count, you are not considered homeless and will not be counted.
Source: coordinated the PIT count in the midwest. I have a lot of issues with it and am happy to pop off if anyones interested.

It only doesn't impact the argument if you're arguing in a vacuum and don't consider how your argument might work when actually trying to convince someone of your point of view rather than gaining fake internet points.

I had a teacher who was a minor figure in the civil rights movement. He HATED the term African-American, and demanded to be called a Negro.

"My family has been here longer than yours, and none of us have ever been to Africa. We're the most American there is."

Makes sense to me.

I would be really surprised if Hopkins didn't participate in the commuter incentive program through MDOT. Here's the general webpage on MDOT's website: Commuter Choice Maryland
Also, here's more literature in PDF form, but it's a bit old (2019), if you find out they don't participate and want to advocate for them to do it. https://www.mdot.maryland.gov/OPCP/MDOT%20Employer%20Benefits%20Toolkit.pdf

I always gripe about how it's 2+ hours to mountains and 2+ hours to the ocean from Baltimore, but even Denver is an hour from the mountains, and our cost of living is infinitely lower and they don't have an ocean. I still wouldn't say that Baltimore has very good access to the outdoors, but you can make it work if you don't mind some driving.
