I live in LP and would absolutely be interested in something like this. With that said, I am local and I don’t have kids currently. A bit ‘demand’ for the peninsula is kid friendly activities. If the space was accommodating for kids/families it could do well. As a fellow artist and crafter I would love this :)

I think this building was a bit different from typical NIMBY objections that part of Hampden isn't on the street grid and there are only three routes out Falls Cliff, which is 2 ways but only one car at a time, a one-way blind turn on Singer and Keswick, and Chestnut and Falls Rd also only one car at a time. If the building hadn't been proposed as a 78' tall building I don't think it would have been met with as much resistance. The Fox building conversion to apartments went through for example as did the Crittenton development and apartment conversation.

Where do you live that you think it’s only county people who drive in the city? I do live here and I’m not taking three or four busses to go to dinner in Harbor East or Fells when I could get in my car and be there in 15 minutes.

I’m all for making the city more walkable and for improving transit options. I’m even for keeping the parklets in some capacity. But I’m also for basing our plans on the present reality being lived by the folks here rather than on some idealized fantasy of how we wish things were.

There's not a ton of options. Water Street has Water Street Grill and Peter's Pour House, both good neighborhood type spots. There's Supano's next to them for an old-school vibe. Further away you have Pratt Street Ale House or Mick O'Sheas. Otherwise you have the hotel bars, the B&O would be the best and is a decent spot. I don't know that anything is open late night anymore though, Mick O'sheas is probably the best shot for that- defintely check hours. Werners and David and Dads also have bars but close early, I think 8PM for both.

I think I’m gonna try to make my own. This recipe was posted in r/NewOrleans and appears to have the stamp of approval. OP said they followed the recipe exactly. How hard could it be? (She said before destroying her kitchen)
