I see nothing wrong with the city making up the lost revenue this way.

Gyms are everywhere, so you'd be drawing a more local crowd, those people would also probably be more apt to walking/biking to it. It's a gym after all.
Makerspaces or art centers are a different story.

i think it would be a huge issue, ive been in the city for over a decade.
its been 7 years or so since i moved from fed hill to hampden. i can say that an activity in sobo feels pretty much off limits due to parking, but i will still go to a friends house it just requires extra planning or effort.
during my own time in fed, friends and acquaintances from other areas of the city would commonly make jokes about how isolated south baltimore residents can be due to not leaving the surrounding area (both out of comfort because you dont need to, and habit due to parking).

Yes, love too compare the daily cost per "place" to a annualized cost per square foot. Very persuasive.

I’m on the hunt for one as well. Fresh Market and Harris Teeter seemed to have the basic boxed ones but they all seem sold out.

What an idiotic idea. Leave the parklets alone. They generate economic activity by making it more appealing to eat out and be out and about. Talk about shortsighted, cutting your nose off to spite your face.

Really depends on exactly where it’s at. Parking availability in that area really varies block by block IMO.

Yes they have said that for some time. That's the issue. And they can add KEY highway to that as that has been a mess for a very long time.
Sunday there was ZERO foot/ped traffic yet the light timings were off. It took 23 minutes to drive 5 miles thru city....2 which were Hull to Light to Pratt No traffic.
It took me 21 minutes to get to Ellicott City Trader Joes in medium traffic (16 miles). Absolutely ridiculous. our infrastructure is just getting worse and we are becoming less of a charm city and more Harm city in more ways than crime.

I believe DOT said the timings on MLK are screwed up - the devices aren't keeping time correctly or something and have completed screwed up traffic there for weeks, even after being reset.
