The remainder of the alley will remain open so people can continue to access their parking pads through the south entrance.

Very interesting reply. I always assumed someone is classified as indigent based on their financial status prior to/coming into the hearing. On that assumption, neither Mosby could possibly be considered indigent, at least in my book. So it sounds like one can be deemed indigent if their case becomes so long/complicated that they find themselves in a hardship situation when facing the compiling billable hours? As someone currently making a whopping 16% of Marilyn’s salary, that just doesn’t sit right with me.

I looked up the rules to determine indigency defined as "unable to afford counsel." I wonder if Mosby again lied on the financial affidavit lol. She'll be indigent eventually lol

So their concerns are unfounded but also they would have no way of even verifying. Got it 🙄

generally, what I get most from pro-transit people are
- not everyone can ride it, so it shouldn't be done (ignoring than some of these companies actually offer rentable mobility scooters)
- without bike lanes, it would be a problem for sidewalks
- we shouldn't subsidize a private company
- we should do X instead (where X is running more buses, or building trams, etc. )
the problem is that it's something that pro-transit folks don't necessarily hate, but they will advocate for something else instead.
the result is that you get 100 different ideas that each have a handful of supporters against a unified group of pro-car people that is 100x larger. the result of all of the disparate pro-transit voices is that the city council and mayor just keep doing more of the same.
if we made a decision matrix with factors like door-to-door time, construction cost, operating cost per passenger-mile, speed of implementation, accessibility, reliability, energy usage per passenger-mile, pollution, noise pollution, and any other performance metric of a transit mode, the result would come back scooter/bike subsidy every single time. it wouldn't even be close. it is an issue that anyone who advocates for non-car transportation SHOULD all agree is the top priority... but scooters have been in Baltimore more than a decade and yet they're still not getting any significant support from the city (they are getting SOME support, but a miniscule amount compared to a buses, PPM)
there is another obvious thing we should at least be looking into, but I don't even dare mention it because of its unpopularity in spite of objective evidence that is outperforming our transit by every metric.

Lol on its face yes that doesn't sound indigent, at all.
But they do not strike me as wealthy people coming from years and years of other wealthy people/generational wealth. You don't know their legal bills. You don't how much debt they have. You don't know what amounts of money they have access to, either. Plus they have two kids, and those rugrats are expensive af: do their kids go to public or private school, what activities do they have, do the kids have a health problem that is expensive, etc.? They could also just be bad with money: many people with high salaries are. Do they have health problems that are expensive? So you have to trust the federal judge can see everything they have and let it go.
I guess it's possible they funneled half of Marilyn's salary to the Cayman Islands... But I just don't think they are that clever frankly.
Edit: Let me also add, many, many black people have negative net worth, man. You can call that shit bad "adulting" if you want, but plenty of actual documented history and research calls it something else. I'm a SBF and I and many folks I know are living proof. I personally do not like either Mosby, but I am also not going to believe that some of these realities do not apply to them.

Torrence’s office does jack shit as far as I can tell. Would love to get someone useful in that seat. Tho also he has a weird mix of neighborhoods, with the west end of hampden and woodberry on one end, and some way sketchier shit on the other end

Will the remainder of that alley system for that block be open and just that entrance be closed, or will all entrances in be closed?

This goes beyond baltimore. The BP tunnel is a choke point for freight trains and commercial traveling for the east coast. The project will bring billions for dollars in return

I'm not sure how you'd keep the homeless folks out, and if it's full of homeless folks, it's unlikely to be useful as a community space.

I want it to have a splashdown zone on a bridge where we can watch riders come over the crest and then get taken out by the ensuing wave.

Utrecht was one of the greatest places I’ve ever been. From the proposals I’ve seen to truncate the JFX around 41st Street and convert the portion south to being a split-boulevard, the height of the promenade down to the river quay would be quite magnificent and beautiful.

Most proposals call for the JFX to be converted around the Pepsi Sign and the Light Rail for that portion would have dedicated lanes. It isn’t a total removal of the JFX, it’s truncating it.

I’m not saying she doesn’t deserve to serve time; I’m just saying that realistically she probably won’t serve any time. Most likely restitutions and potential disbarment.
