Delivery fees have increased multiple times over the last year. Supply costs have increased marginally.

Bge sucks but they are regulated rates. Public service commission has done nothing but give hundreds of millions in funds to utility companies and not controlled rate increases sufficiently.

If you can't make home modifications you are limited in how you can use less. But more insulation, sealing windows, caulking gaps, wearing more clothes and trapping heat/keeping cold out is what you need to do. Also see if your air filters are clean so your HVAC runs optimally. Also keep thermostat low/around 65.

Besides that, if you qualify you can apply for OHEP benefits (energy assistance). That would help pay towards costs, but you have to earn under the income limit for the 30 day application period you apply. If you are over the income limit you can apply for for the Maryland fuel fund. They have less strict income guidelines.

😂 I live in Arlington right now instead of Tysons thankfully.

But given I don't have a need to go in that often...paying DC level prices to live kind of sucks.

But yeah Tysons is a shithole.

We had good food but bad service at Foraged. I would go back again not during restaurant week; my partner does not want to go back.

Restaurant Week website lists the menu as $40pp; when we arrived the waitress says $45pp. Fine. Waitress says they offer a wine pairing with each course for $20pp; when the bill came it was $25pp. Fine. The waitstaff mixed us up and gave us each other's food for every course despite clarifying who got what after the first mix-up. Fine. The kicker for my partner was a screwy mix-up where they forgot to bring us the second half of our meal and then got kind of salty about addressing it when we asked about it. Ended up having to pay for and extra round of wine tasting to get the pairing timed with the dishes when they finally came out and had a flat rose with dessert after they simply re-served the wine they'd initially tried to give us an hour before. Again, I'm sure 99% of those problems were RW-related because they were slammed with reservations and I would totally go back some other time, but my partner doesn't like "pay more to eat less" places in general and the service experience made him extremely bitter.

Not in Baltimore proper but I’ve been seeing Dr. Mark Lowitt at GBMC for over 10 years now. He saved my life, found my atypical melanoma, and was part of my care team to treat it. Also helped with acne when I was a teen. Can’t recommend him enough. Super thorough, caring, and kind.

Murder keeps rent low.

An active hate group keeps rent low.

A nearby biohazard keeps rent low.

Graffiti probably contributes to our declining population, which keeps property taxes high, which gets passed on to renters.

It is more complicated than other places, but certainly doable. There are lots of good elementary schools, middle can be a little tougher and then some great choices again for high school- in general kids apply to high schools and can go wherever they get in, there isn't really zoning for high school. A couple others not mentioned yet- Hampstead Hill (Canton), Francis Scott Key (locust point), Thomas Johnson (south baltimore), Midtown and Mt Royal (Bolton Hill). It's also often possible to get your kid in a school out of zone if there is room. No guarantees but I know plenty of people who have had success.

Make sure you warn anybody who is touching that laundry if any of it has vomit on it - norovirus can live outside the body for up to 2 weeks and it's crazy infectious.

Climate change is happening, yes - and that is going to lead to A) warmer winters, like we're having now and B) changes in habitat/wildlife. I think if humanity does absolutely nothing to combat climate change it could lead to collapse. If your argument is 'this could happen if we don't do enough' then you need to reword how you say it. If your argument is 'this will happen and y'all need to be prepared' then I can't help you and you need to be relegated to r/conspiracy.

TLDR, just move out. No reason you can’t get your security deposit back. Not saying to pay for something that isn’t worth it. I’m saying that you get what you pay for. If you want a better place then move out.

I have very fine, straight hair that needs someone very precise. I also highlight my hair. These are the people I’ve gone to over the past 15-20 years. I’ve changed stylists based on my home or work location over the years. I’ve been to all 4 in the past 3 years. Now, I’m back with MaKenzie since her salon is very close. They are all very talented with cut and color.

Nikki or Autumn at NV Salon Collective in Hampden. https://www.nvsalonco.com/about

Bethany Pontier at Charm Cult Craft. I think she just moved her studio to Lauraville.

MaKenzie at Mallia Salon & Spa in Middle River

We went to Rusty Scupper because we had gotten a gift card for Christmas. It was really tasty! I had the Short Rib Oscar and my partner had the pork chop. We would both recommend it.

Edit: the meal there was 3 courses for $55, so probably not the best value although it was really tasty
