Falafel House in Towson is a fave. Great Middle Eastern desserts too. Their knafeh is sublime. I know that is not Baltimore though.

One-Eyed Mike’s in Fells Point.

My husband and I had the best Valentine’s weekend date there last year. We don’t typically go out for the holiday, but it had been a while since we’d gone out on a date in general and decided we should that weekend….before fully realizing it was mid-February aka Valentines. Most of our typical places were booked but we found One-Eyed Mike’s had Friday night availability and secured a reservation in a peak timeslot.

It’s a nicer bar with a small dining room and we were seated with only a few other couples around. There was a Valentine’s weekend menu and the food was outstanding (scallops and duck). I think the fact that it’s not on everyone’s radar for this type of thing made it perfect for a truly lovely date night with great food, drinks, service, and ambiance.

Hi Ho Silver Co. in Ellicott City is where my wife and I got our rings. Lots of cool vintage jewelry, plus a lot of items made in house!

Edit to add: They can re-size and polish stuff, too. Every time we're there they ask if we want our rings cleaned.

every time streets are blocked to cars and people can walk safely between different businesses it’s like a place is transformed into a healthy public space where people enjoy spending time and not just because they have a specific reason to be there. cars plowing through the middle of it makes it dangerous and pollutes the air. on the avenue they have tried outside seating for several of the restaurants but who wants to sit there in danger of getting run over by a pickup truck or even just choking in the exhaust fumes

We are just in the process of moving out of Locust Point but it was fantastic for us when we were in your position - I commuted to college park, my husband commuted to Ellicott city, and we were young professionals in the city with no kids. Fed hill has a bit more nightlife but I prefer the slightly calmer pace or LP personally. If you want walkable coffee shops, ceremony coffee is excellent in that area though. :) can’t go wrong with either
