Not kidding but check out Craigslist and Facebook, lots of people I know have found roommates that way. Decently common for a group to be trying to fill one room if they had a single roommate move out or something. That will buy you a few months or a year to meet people and find a more long term arrangement or save and get your own place

Be forewarned, though, that you may not see action for some time. Depending on the house, they may already be aware of and monitoring it quietly. Similarly, they may be hamstrung by the DEA. This happened to a house in my neighborhood several years ago.

Hi guys, thanks for the amazing response!

We ended up having an almost packed house (every table and chair except for 1 x 4-top), and 15 teams total. The game went down to the final questions with very deserving champs, and a couple playing at the bar won the small team prize.

I had 5 or 6 people mention seeing the post on Reddit and the feedback on the game seemed to be very positive. I was a little rusty having not hosted there in so long, but I think people seemed to have a lot of fun.

Finally, we did have 2 people from Reddit show up solo who were hoping to join a team. I was able to pair both of them with a group of regulars from a few years back and they ended up finishing 3rd or 4th I think.
Overall I'd say it was a hit and it was great to be back! If you're a trivia person then definitely consider checking it out any Tuesday.

I had about 225 for December for about 1600 sq ft. It was that deep freeze before and during Christmas that did it. I haven't paid a gas and electric bill like that in 11 years. It sucked... But I paid it.😔

Thermostat at 66 and 67.

Editing to say, the electricity portion was like 40 dollars, which I was extremely proud of. It's my gas furnace and appliances killing my budget.

Yeah that's what I said. I can only speak from my own personal experience. Traffic was insane though. I lived on 29th. Cars just gunning it all day and all night. Noisy. This was several years ago. No, I never saw joggers. People walking, I guess. But not seemingly for the sake of a walk. Charles village and hampden, yes absolutely. You say you live adjacent, so I don't know. I lived in Remington. Where I live now is delightfully more walkable and people actually go on walks for walks sake.

Btw I just got around to reading the article you posted and it really helped me, as a transplant, understand the history of Essex better. My neighbors are mostly born and raised here so I've gotten tidbits. I really love the people in this community. I'm a working class Midwestern girl, and I feel right at home here. I see in a lot of these folks what I saw in people back home. People who work hard and care about their neighbors. People who get a lot taken from them and taken out of them but keep on going because they do what they have to do for their families. I moved here for grad school at Johns Hopkins and I have always felt like a misfit there. I'm not an ivory tower kind of girl. So making my home here in Essex gave me that sense of fitting in I needed.

I'm really interested in Cliff O'Donnell from the article, and I wish the article had said more about the volunteer group because I'd like to pitch in. I've been picking up trash while walking with my kids around the neighborhood and maybe I can organize with him something more. I'm going to try to look him up. I'm rambling lol sorry for that. I don't get opportunities to blab about Essex much I guess.
