Yeah, on the bright side, the bar was on the floor with Rahn (tbf I wasn't aware we'd had two new transportation secretaries since 2020), and it remains to been who gets named to run MTA along with any actual push to make a regional authority.

And it seems like Wiedefeld's previous time at MTA overlaps with when O'Malley was choosing the Red Line route which probably beats a total outsider if there's any intent to try to get it underway quickly?

My favorite poor light synchronization is Loch Raven between the city line and Woodbourne. I drive the speed limit +5 and end up hitting red at every light. Sometimes if I drive like a maniac, I can beat the cycle, but I don't like doing that, so I've just learned to avoid it or plan extra time. It's hilariously bad.

Ha, Yea that’s the same feeling I get when browsing it. In my head it’s As you say very high stung people living in a city for the first time. It’s like a bunch of the sub grew up in the DC suburbs but upper middle class. Another bunch came from the suburbs of some small Midwest city like Tulsa or something and have never seen real city problems. And the rest are leftovers from the last presidential administration. It gets real dog-whistlely in there sometimes.

Walgreens in Remington has been bananas recently, do not recommend. For a recent prescription, I had to go in *four times* to get it filled, and on the last visit I was there waiting for over an hour, and watched the staff get into shouting matches with three different people who also had come in multiple times to pick prescriptions and had been told they were ready when they weren't actually available. It seems like the whole industry is really struggling, so I don't know of anywhere that is doing much better.

The South Baltimore Book Club meets in various spots around Fed Hill, Riverside, and Locust Point. There’s usually a Tuesday night meeting mid-month and then a Sunday brunch meeting towards the end of the month. The Sunday group is meeting on February 26th to discuss Fairy Tale by Stephen King. The Sunday group is new in the last few months so every month there are lots of new people and introductions.

Charm City Books in Pigtown has several book clubs, including LGBTQ, Romance, and short stories. There isn’t a lot of up to date info on their website but staff is very helpful if you call or pop in to ask about the groups. The LGBTQ group is still meeting by zoom. They’re meeting Feb 15th to discuss Astrid Green Doesn’t Fail.
